A Complex Bus Shelter Move

In addition to our normal work we have undertaken some unusual projects and this is a good example!

This involved a Client who had resided at his home for a great No of years (30+) and over time the West Midlands Travel had increased the size of the bus shelter outside this house which had restricted vehicular access to his front garden. 

For a great many years this did not possessed a problem, however as he became elderly and required vehicular access to his site and his parking bay they became a need for him to park his car directly in front of his house. 

We made an application to West Midlands Travel to have this relocated and as you would expect these procedures are not straight forward. 

In addition to our application we later found that the local authority positioned the drop curve in the wrong position, 3 doors further down to the dismay of our Client. This involved writing letters to the leader of the council and the transfer authority to reposition the drop curve and reduce the bus shelter height and width. Finally this was completed and as illustrated below.
